Phillip Hau,
Registered Psychologist

Phillip Hau is a Registered Psychologist with Insight Psychological, the partner agency to Family Solutions Group. In his role with Insight Psychological, he is the Associate Clinical Director and Clinical Assessment Lead. He also provides clinical supervision to practicum students, post-practicum therapists, as well as Registered Provisional Psychologists.

Mr. Hau enjoys conducting assessments across a range of presenting issues from exploring giftedness, learning disabilities, capacity assessment, Autism diagnosis, ADHD Assessment, mental health and behavioural concerns, and career assessments.
In addition to providing assessment services, he provides counselling services for clients across all walks of life and age ranges. He utilizes a range of counselling modalities including, Solution focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Play Therapy.
Mr. Hau has been Pride-certified to work with sexual and gender minority individuals, and has facilitated queer space workshops and allyship with Edmonton Public Schools. In addition to his work with Insight Psychological, he has participated as a counsellor at Edmonton’s Camp FYrefly—Canada’s only national leadership retreat for LGBTQ+ folks. Mr. Hau is a proponent of social justice and advocacy in all areas of his work. Mr. Hau is certified in crisis work through the American Association of Suicidology, and has experience in crisis de-escalation, suicide intervention, and domestic violence assessment through the Distress Line with the Canadian Mental Health Association.
